HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
***MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT***
SALARY RANGE- $80,000.00-$85,000.00
Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Generalist will manage the daily operations of the Human Resources department, including recruitment and interviews, benefits administration, leave management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Duties and responsibilities:
Develops, updates, and monitors compliance with mandatory and optional training programs, continuing education, and job-related assessments. This includes but is not limited to safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certification or aptitude testing.
Coordinates with supervisors, recruiters/staffing agencies and candidates to fulfill direct hire and temporary staffing needs.
· Prepares documentation, schedules, and coordinates a seamless onboarding process for new hires, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a positive first-day experience.
· Manages administrative tasks related to onboarding, employee benefits, and other HR-related updates.
· Performs routine functions necessary for the effective administration of HR programs, including compensation, benefits administration, HRIS changes etc.
· Responds to employee and supervisor inquiries related to employment matters, escalating complex or sensitive issues as required.
· Knowledge of compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains current knowledge of, and ensures compliance with, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as HR best practices.
· Organizes and maintains accurate and confidential employee personnel files, including documentation of employment status changes, benefits, and attendance.
· Administers employee leave programs in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, such as Family Medical Leave (FMLA) and Connecticut Paid Leave (CTPL).
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Associates degree preferred.
· Three years of human resource experience required, at least one year in manufacturing preferred.
· High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the organization verbally, nonverbally, and in writing.
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems. (ADP preferred)
Working conditions
Office environment within a manufacturing facility.
Physical requirements
· Must be able to move, lift, transport items at minimum of 20 lbs.
· Must be able to consistently operate a computer/office productivity machinery i.e., calculator, copy machine, printer for a minimum of 6 hours per day.
· Must be able to remain stationary for a minimum of 2 hours per day.
· Must be able to detect and correct errors on paper/screens.
· Must be able to communicate and exchange information with other members of the organization verbally, nonverbally, and in writing.
· Must be able to move throughout the facility and office area to access file cabinets, office equipment, plant machinery, and other office areas as needed.
· Must be able to work on-site/in-office daily.
