Accounting Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Manager will oversee a variety of accounting duties, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and assisting with the preparation of reports and audits.
 

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Assist controller with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, etc.).
  • Ensure financial records are accurate and comply with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Analyze and review financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies.

 

  • Account Reconciliation:
  • Oversee and perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues arising from reconciliations.

 

  • General Ledger Maintenance:
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure that journal entries are properly recorded.
  • Review and approve journal entries prepared by junior accountants or accounting assistants.

 

  • Audit Support:
  • Prepare supporting documentation for external auditors and assist during the audit process.
  • Address any auditor queries and ensure timely submission of financial reports.

 

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by gathering data, preparing reports, and analyzing variances.
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather financial information for budget planning.

 

  • Internal Controls:
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 

  • Supervision and Mentorship:
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, assisting in training and development.
  • Review and approve their work, ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounting tasks.

 

  • Ad-hoc Analysis and Projects:
  • Conduct special financial analysis as requested by management.
  • Assist in system upgrades or other accounting-related projects as needed.

Requirements
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
