RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Manager will oversee a variety of accounting duties, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and assisting with the preparation of reports and audits.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist controller with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, etc.).
- Ensure financial records are accurate and comply with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Analyze and review financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies.
- Account Reconciliation:
- Oversee and perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues arising from reconciliations.
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure that journal entries are properly recorded.
- Review and approve journal entries prepared by junior accountants or accounting assistants.
- Audit Support:
- Prepare supporting documentation for external auditors and assist during the audit process.
- Address any auditor queries and ensure timely submission of financial reports.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by gathering data, preparing reports, and analyzing variances.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather financial information for budget planning.
- Internal Controls:
- Monitor and ensure adherence to internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Supervision and Mentorship:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, assisting in training and development.
- Review and approve their work, ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounting tasks.
- Ad-hoc Analysis and Projects:
- Conduct special financial analysis as requested by management.
- Assist in system upgrades or other accounting-related projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
